Irdeto Unveils Mobile App Protection Service

Zero-touch mobile app protection service with machine learning empowers developers to focus on time-to-market and business logic.

BLACK HAT, LAS VEGAS – 5 August 2019 – Irdeto has announced Trusted Software, a new service designed to offer optimal flexibility and efficiency to developers and organizations facing today’s cybersecurity challenges. Hosted in the cloud, Trusted Software automates iOS and Android app protection with a simple drag-and-drop interface. Optimized with machine learning, the new service provides organizations with assurance that apps are provided with expert-level protection against hackers and cyberthreats.

The Internet of Things and “appification” have spawned digital disruption across a multitude of industries, making devices and applications that organizations implement or develop a target for hackers. In fact, a recent Irdeto survey found that 80% of organizations in transport, manufacturing and healthcare have experienced a cyberattack on their IoT devices in the past 12 months. Despite this clear recognition of vulnerabilities, many organizations struggle to find the staff, expertise or budget to properly secure applications. Irdeto Trusted Software addresses that challenge by automatically protecting applications from hackers trying to copy or clone apps, reverse engineer intellectual property or steal credentials, services and critical data. 

Unlike other solutions on the market, which typically require cybersecurity expertise to configure, build and apply proper protection, Trusted Software takes app-store-ready applications as a starting point. Trusted Software then returns a protected application that is ready for posting to the app store, eliminating the need for the organization to spend time or resources securing mobile apps. The new service also prevents organizations from needing to develop or hire the necessary skillsets to ensure proper cybersecurity of mobile apps is obtained.
